WHAT IS ALPHA?
Alpha is a 10 week dinner and discussion series designed for people who wouldn't describe themselves as Christians. Our volunteers provide Alpha guests with exceptional hospitality and a friendly and respectful environment in which to discuss the big issues of life and the Christian faith.
Volunteering on Alpha is a fantastic way to serve the people of New York with Church Of The City.
WHO IS ALPHA FOR?
Alpha is for anyone who would not describe themselves as Christian. Alpha is for people who would not come to a Sunday service, a Community Group, CORE group or Beta.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Alpha runs across ten weekly sessions with a weekend away midway through. Each session includes food, a short video and a discussion where guests can share their thoughts. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. No question is out of bounds and everyone is free to discuss as much or as little as they wish. There's no pressure, no follow up and no charge.
INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO ALPHA: FALL 2019
We are launching two fall courses of Alpha with one event on September 24th. Get your free ticket here!
Alpha is a series of dinner conversations that explore life, spirituality and faith through a Christian lens. We create a non-judgmental and open environment where it’s easy for anyone who is an atheist, skeptic or just curious about faith to explore questions of life. This one-off event will consider the question “Is There More To LIfe Than This?” through a short film and then a panel will respond to guest-submitted questions. Everyone is welcome.
Alpha: No Judgment. No Preaching. No Pressure. Just Honest, Real Conversation.
